A 2012 census report reveals at least 36 million people participate in the grueling http://www.gms4you.us/ task of moving each year and takes the place of third most stressful event in a persons life, according to the Employee Relocation Council.

With questions running through ones mind of where to put things for safe packing and how to actually move belongings from point A to point B, its obvious where the stress comes in. We can Google all wed like; it is still up to chance when choosing a moving company that will fit particular needs.

However, the sights are not too far off in the northern country of Canada. Since, 2009 Ontario-based Metropolitan Movers has serviced thousands of people by providing excellent service to their customers. Having won the Consumer Choice Award for 2012, Metropolitan Movers continue their easy-going, satisfactory customer service making them stand out against fellow companies.

We are here to make the customer happy with our business. says Benny Presman, CEO of Metropolitan Movers. We have a dedicated customer service and its important we know how our movers did with the service or services requested of us.

Upon their inception, Metropolitan Movers did not always have the wide range of services to provide. Metropolitan Movers gives options to their consumers based on the type of move that is needed. A few of the services offered are office moving, long distances moving and even piano moving. Yet another reason Metropolitan Movers stand out amongst competitors: they are a one-stop shop for any and every need their customers have. Presman agrees that moving is a challenge and there are several key items to look out for when choosing a moving company that is right for you.

Definitely do your research. The review site Yelp is very helpful, unlike other accredited sites that only give a good rating if the company participates. Presman says. Moving is not bulletproof. Things happen and its important to make yourself aware of the company you deal with.

Some other things Presman suggests to keep in mind when searching for a company include details on the services offered, how largely staffed or well-equipped is the company and the type of insurance offered by the company. Presman also urges researchers to obtain good estimates for their move because while the rate per hour looks affordable, there could be some fine print in between the lines.

You dont want to come across someone who charges $40 an hour, but then they have all the extra charges that you didnt know about, said Presman.

A recent article on Kiplinger.com, an online source for business forecasts, listed the top five tips for saving money during a move. One of the bullets of advice listed a cheap move is possible if the person moving did everything themselves. Which brings the question of which option is better: an old-fashioned do-it-yourself or hiring movers?

Everyone can be a mover, maybe it wont be good, but it can be done, said Presman. But [moving] is a huge hassle! You dont always have to go with a big company or youll end up paying more for brand than service. In the end, its up to the needs of the person moving. Small place? Then renting a truck and doing it yourself with some help should be fine.

Presman notes the importance of selecting a company that makes the moving process smoother. For example, if you are moving from the first floor in a building and require help moving to the fifth floor of the same building, many companies may not provide just the help. At Metropolitan Movers, a prospective client in this situation could request movers only.

While they are currently a franchise in Canada, Metropolitan Movers is currently making plans to bring their easy moving system to the U.S. in the coming year. However, before we get the chance to try them, Presman leaves us with a final tip:

Be responsible in your choices in a moving company and above all pay attention to all ends of the move beginning with the price estimates.
